MEDITATION MOMENT – Focus Forward

The LORD is telling me, “There is no deadline, and there is no pressure. I will bring in the harvest with a furry.” Think about the harvest of crops with limited time to reap from the fields, the vine, the tree—the bounty is brought in with a furry. Think of the rest of the year—

There is a time of dormancy, as decay replenishes the soil. So must occur with our bodies, the temple of the Holy Spirit. God does not have us “on” 24/7 for 365 days. No, that is from the world. God commanded us to rest on the Sabbath, the seventh day. God commanded that our fields lay dormant every seven years.

There is a specified time to plant when the ground is most fertile. We must plant with good seed sowed with God’s purpose and with total reliance on God for the seed’s growth. Otherwise, we may seed an Ishmael by scattering in a field for our purpose and relying on our self to produce it.

These four seasons, sowing, growing, harvesting, and dormancy apply to our life. We cycle through them independent of the weather season we are in. Winter wheat is planted in autumn and harvested in spring. Plants require a cold, dormant state to flower. Winter can be a time of productivity to make ready for your blossoming, new beginnings or a multiplying of fruit.

KEEP WALKING AND DON'T LOOK BACK!

That is so true about life in general. We are so concerned about what is behind us that we cannot see what is in front of us. FOCUS FORWARD. If we focus on what is right in front of us, we can see through it to what God beholds; we can see through it to what lies beyond. FOCUS FORWARD is not tunnel vision. We are aware of our surroundings; we are mindful the interconnections of past, present, and future. FOCUS FORWARD is a sharp vision that sees with spiritual understanding, piercing through to the third heaven and having heaven on earth.

Focused on the Goal

I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” ~ Philippians 3:12-14 The Message
