Being with God

Your patience—waiting on the Lord—allows time for you
to “be” with God. “Being” with God is not an action of “doing,” rather “being
with God” is a state of your mind, heart and soul in harmony with God;
your spirit synchronized with His. This is communion with God—experiencing the
divine nature of God’s Spirit in yours, where you are in complete devotion,
reverence, and worship of God—this is godliness. When you are in
communion with God, nothing else compares in importance and nothing gets in the
way of the intimacy of your relationship with Him.92 You are living
in the Spirit. Your behavior edifies
God’s presence in your life—you walk in the Spirit.
It is
in this state, one of godliness, that you do not stumble. This is about which
apostle Peter refers, “if you do these things you will never stumble,” 93
if you diligently back up your claim to be chosen by God, “your call and
election sure,” by adding
to
perseverance godliness.94

to your faith virtue,
It is
in godliness that others will see a difference in you, a change in your
character. They will experience who you really are, a “child of the
resurrection,” 95 a “child of light,” one of God.96 The
Light of God, the radiance of the Holy Spirit, will emanate from your face,
because His presence is so profoundly within you that you overflow with
brotherly kindness and love.97

us to announce to you: God is light and
there is no darkness in him at all. So
we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in
spiritual darkness. We are not living in
the truth. But if we are living in the
light of God’s presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each
other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin." 98

full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior
should show it! For this light within
you produces only what is good and right and true." 99
